we have a 1972 ford 4110 4wd and it is fitted with a quickie loader. at the moment it has a seperate set of levers(3) but they are rather jittery, hard to use with persision. for example you have to apply just the right amount of pressure to the lever to lower the loader slowly/gently, a little too much pressure and it shoots off towards the ground faster than the speed of light!!!!

ideally i would like to fit it with a nice, gentle joystick. but what would be involved with this?? and where would i start to look for one?? does the joystick do all 3 functions?? or is there just an easy adjustment i could do for the timebeing???

Hi all
I registered today for some advice but noiw i have found this forum, hope to use more
I drive an MF135 at Stapleford Miniature railway near Melton Leics
The railway is a historic line built in 1958 and runs through nearly 2 miles of parkland. looking after this is a big job for us vounteers and the fergie was bought about 6 years back to help. It used to run a Votex topper untill that rusted away the other year and now has a Bertil 3 metre reach flail with 900mm head bought new in 2008 which is used to keep the grass under control along the lineside. The 135 is ideal as it can stradle the 10 1/4" gauge line and sleepers and will just fit up the cutting to the Tunnel. Previously, we had to cut this with flymos which took 2 days!! alone. I keep the FLE on while cutting to aid stability with the flail
We also use the 135 to load ballast wagons and also for digging out the track bed during renewal as its width is ideal using a power tip bucket.
(We have access to a JCB but this is too big to fit in the arrow track bed.)
will post some pics on here of the 135 in use
It has been a reliable machine till today  Cry and also athough tatty with no paint!!, it always starts first time in winter, even though it is stored outside and without using easystart.
We also have  aTEF 20 but this is  a poor starter and is only used to tow a small trailer

Welcome, our community is small, but hopefully someone can eventually help you, please be patient.

Hi
New to the forum I wonder if anyone can help
At our volunteer preserved railway, We have a G registered fergie 135 with hydraulic FEL which has been fine since we got her 6 years back but today something strange happend. After moving a loaded trailer and tipping it with the external supply, and then dropping the trailer off using the 3 point hook linkage, I was moving along ok with the links up on the lock pin of the hook linkage, when the linkage started to jump up and down as the tractor moved (1st gear) stopped and its stopped. and tried reverse and same happened. Jumped off expecting something to be in contact with wheel but is wasnt. reversed further and it stopped doing it, but now i cant lower the 3 point arms (linkage all off even standing on them and they wont rise any further  and are not at full height. The FEL works off the centre divert valve but is now slugish and only has anough power to lift empty whereas previously, it could handle a ton poly bag. Can hear the relief going off when lifting but cant see how that would stop the arms dropping or raising regardless of centre valve position or draught and constant pump lever positiosn  as normall, the block is on the back and rises right up before the FEL starts to lift. Checked oil level which is fine
Next job is to take the top plate off but anyone any idea how the drive wheels can be connected to the hydraulics, I assume that internal lnkage is busted by contact with the Diff? There is still a light ticking nois insdie if i move fwd in time to road speed?
Any advice appreciated, it was 30 years ago when i was at Agri college working on these things LOL
